My Reflections for the Unit
The whole unit about cell structure and function has been very informative and fun! The essential question "What is the essence of the little things?" has indeed been a very good anchor on which the course of our discussions and activities were grounded. Not only did I fully understand and appreciate the cell and its various organelles, I was also able to realize the importance of these little invisible things to life. Though cells and organelles are very little, through the unit, I was able to see how essential they are. From these little things, many other forms of life spring: tissues, organs, systems, organisms! The unit tapped our imagination and skills. It also challenged us to break the gap between classroom lessons and real life by the task of coming up with a presentation anchored on the essential and unit questions. The unit "The Essence of Little Things" thought me not only of basic biological concepts but also of vital realities of life one of which is appreciating little things and their immense essence.
